Virtual psychotherapy across Ontario

Let's figure it out together.

Maybe you've been worrying so much that even quiet moments no longer feel peaceful. Maybe a relationship that matters to you has become difficult, and you're not sure how to handle it. Or you've started questioning your decisions so often that it's becoming harder to trust your own judgment. Sometimes, there isn't one clear problem you can point to—just a lingering feeling that something isn't quite right.

Whatever brings you here, I want to understand what it's been like for you—what you've been going through, how you've been trying to manage it, and what you wish could be different. I don't want to rush into answers that sound good on paper but don't fit your life. I'd rather we take the time to understand what matters to you and work from there.

Areas of support

What I Can Help With

The same concern can look and feel different from one person to the next. Here are some of the areas I work with in individual therapy.

Anxiety & OverwhelmWhen your mind is always preparing for what might go wrong.

Maybe you replay conversations, imagine worst-case scenarios, or feel on edge even when there’s no immediate reason to worry. Trying to prepare for every possibility can become exhausting.

We can look at what keeps that cycle going and practise ways to manage anxiety, face uncertainty, and make choices without worry having the final say.

Self-Worth & ConfidenceWhen you’re quick to question yourself and slow to give yourself credit.

Maybe you’re harder on yourself than you’d ever be on someone you care about. Mistakes stay with you longer than accomplishments, and comparing yourself to others can leave you feeling like you’re never doing enough.

We can explore how those beliefs developed, question the standards you’re measuring yourself against, and work toward trusting yourself without needing to get everything right.

Low Mood & DepressionWhen even the small things take more energy, and the things you used to enjoy don’t feel the same.

Sometimes, just getting through an ordinary day can feel exhausting. You might find yourself withdrawing from people, losing interest in things you once looked forward to, or feeling frustrated that even simple tasks have become difficult.

We don’t need to pretend that getting back into things is easy. We can start with what’s manageable, better understand what you’ve been experiencing, and gradually explore ways to reconnect with the activities, relationships, and parts of life that matter to you.

Relationships & BoundariesEven the relationships that matter most can leave us feeling hurt, unheard, or unsure what to do.

Maybe you find yourself holding back what you really feel to avoid conflict. Or conversations turn into arguments before you can explain what you mean. Perhaps you struggle to say no without feeling guilty, or wonder why certain patterns keep showing up in your relationships.

In individual therapy, we can look more closely at these experiences and work toward communicating your needs, navigating conflict, and building relationships that feel more honest and fulfilling.

Life Transitions & ChangeWhen you’re facing a change, or wondering whether it’s time for one.

A move, career decision, changing relationship, or new stage of life can bring both possibility and uncertainty. Sometimes you’re adjusting to something you didn’t choose. Other times, you’re deciding whether to make a change yourself.

Therapy can offer room to sort through those mixed feelings, consider your options, and find direction that feels meaningful to you.

Cultural & Immigrant ExperiencesMissing home, adjusting to a new place, or navigating family expectations can be harder than people realize.

Moving somewhere new can bring opportunities and a real sense of loss at the same time. You might miss familiar people and routines, feel pressure to meet family expectations, or find yourself balancing different values and ways of life.

Whether you’ve immigrated yourself or grown up with multiple cultural influences, therapy can be a place to explore these experiences while making room for your background, your relationships, and what matters to you.

Identity & BelongingWhen you’re wondering where you fit, what matters to you, or how to feel more like yourself.

Maybe you’ve spent years following a path that made sense at the time, but you’re beginning to question whether it’s still right for you. Or you’ve become so accustomed to fulfilling certain roles and expectations that it’s difficult to know what you want outside of them.

Therapy can offer room to explore the different parts of who you are, what gives your life meaning, and how you might make choices that feel more true to yourself.

ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Aubrey.

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

One of the things I find remarkable about people is how deeply our experiences can shape us, and how we're still capable of learning, adapting, and growing throughout our lives. The ways we've learned to think, feel, and respond often have a history behind them. And while those patterns can be difficult to change, I find something deeply hopeful in knowing that growth and learning don't have an end date.

That's part of what makes being a psychotherapist so meaningful to me. People invite me into their lives, sharing experiences, struggles, and hopes that are deeply personal to them. I get to work alongside them, sometimes witnessing meaningful changes in how they see themselves, relate to others, and approach their lives. Even if I'm only part of a small chapter in someone's story, it's a privilege to be trusted with that part of their life. I don't take that lightly.

My approach

What Working Together Can Look Like

I don't believe there's one right way to approach therapy. Everyone brings their own experiences, perspectives, and goals. I want our work to reflect who you are and what you need, not just when we first meet, but as your needs and goals change along the way.

Understand Your Experience

You don't need to have everything figured out or know exactly where to start. I want to hear about your experiences, understand how you've come to see yourself and the world around you, and learn what life has been like from your perspective. Sometimes, that means taking the time to make sense of feelings or experiences you haven't quite found the words for yet.

02

Find What Helps

Sometimes, talking something through can help us see it differently. Other times, we might explore a belief you've carried for years, work through a difficult emotion, or try something new and see what you learn from the experience. I'm not looking for a one-size-fits-all answer. I'm interested in discovering what actually makes a difference for you.

03

Keep Adjusting Together

I don't want to assume something is helping just because it sounded promising when we talked about it. We'll keep checking in about what you're noticing, what's becoming easier, and what still feels difficult. If something isn't working, we can try another way. And if change is taking longer than we'd hoped, we can make room for that, too.

Evidence-based psychotherapy

Grounded in Evidence,
Tailored to You

My work draws from evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), alongside person-centred principles.

Research offers valuable guidance, but it doesn't tell us everything about any one person. I bring that evidence together with my clinical training and your experiences, needs, and preferences, so that the work remains thoughtful, collaborative, and responsive to you.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

A few things you might be wondering.

It's natural to have questions before starting therapy. Here are some answers to help you know what to expect.

How do virtual therapy sessions work?

All sessions take place online through Zoom, so you can meet with me from a private, comfortable space anywhere in Ontario. Once we've confirmed your appointment, I'll send you the Zoom meeting details.

You'll just need a reliable internet connection and somewhere you can speak freely without interruptions. And if we run into technical difficulties, we'll figure out an alternative together.

Will my insurance cover our sessions?

Some extended health insurance plans cover psychotherapy provided by a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), while others may not. Coverage depends on your specific plan, so I recommend confirming with your insurance provider before booking.

I'll provide a receipt after each paid session that you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement.

What can I expect during our first therapy session?

Before we meet, I'll send you a few forms to complete so I can begin getting to know you and your concerns.

We'll start by reviewing informed consent, including confidentiality and what you can expect from therapy. From there, I'd like to hear more about what brings you in, what's been happening in your life, and what you're hoping to work toward.

There's no need to explain everything in one session. We can take the time to build an understanding together.

Can I speak Tagalog during our sessions?

Absolutely! You're welcome to express yourself in Tagalog if that's what feels most comfortable.

I understand Tagalog fluently, although I tend to express myself more naturally in English or Taglish. You're welcome to communicate in Tagalog, and we can discuss whether this balance would work well for you.

Can faith or spirituality be part of our sessions?

Yes. If your faith or spiritual beliefs are an important part of your life, I'm happy to make room for them in our work together.

We can explore how your beliefs connect with your experiences, values, relationships, and the things you're working through. Faith integration is entirely guided by your preferences, and there's never an expectation to incorporate religion or spirituality into therapy.

What if we're not the right fit?

Finding the right therapist matters, and I understand that I may not be the best fit for everyone.

If at any point you feel that something isn't working, I welcome an open conversation about it. And if another therapist or service may be better suited to your needs, I'll be honest about that and, where possible, help you explore other options or referrals.

What matters most to me is that you're getting the support you need, whether that's with me or someone else.

How do payment and cancellations work?

Payment is made by e-transfer after each session, and I'll send you a receipt for your records. You can also submit the receipt to your insurance provider for reimbursement, if your plan provides coverage.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let me know at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice are subject to a $40 cancellation fee.

Any outstanding fees, including unpaid session or cancellation fees, must be settled before another therapy session can be booked.

Still have questions? Let's talk.

If there's something you'd like to ask, or you're ready to see whether we'd be a good fit, you're welcome to book a free 15-minute meet & greet.

LET'S CONNECT

See whether working together feels right.

Finding a therapist isn't just about their experience or approach. It's also about whether you feel comfortable connecting and working with them. That's why I offer a free 15-minute virtual consultation before you decide whether you'd like to book a session.

We can get to know each other a little, talk about your goals for therapy, and make room for any questions you might have. You don't need to share your whole story in 15 minutes. My hope is that you leave with a clearer sense of whether I might be the right person to support you.
